Aug the Sixth (cont’d)
Journal, I am officially bored of The Foothill, and by extension the woods around my folks’ house.
It shouldn’t be a surprise, as it didn’t come to me as one. I mean honestly, it only makes sense – I used to go back there constantly as a kid, by myself and with my friends. Even set up a tent as a little fort every now and then. It’s my stomping grounds, y’know? I’ve seen it all, experienced it to the fullest. It was nice to hang out there yesterday because of the nostalgia factor, but today? Not so much. My only regret is that I didn’t bring my hammock the first time, because that would have been fuckin’ perfect.
Why the sudden rejection of The Foothill? Well, I was out there for most of the day today. Had the fire going, big ol’ pile of wood, chillin’ in my hammock higher than the canopy, and it was glorious. It had everything a situation needs to be considered glorious, anyway. It should have been glorious. But it wasn’t.
It. Just. Wasn’t.
It was boring, isolating, lonely. Not bringing any music didn’t help – I decided to leave my phone off all day today, just for the fuck of it – and neither did the fact that, if I looked through the trees just right, I could still see my folks’ house.
So what to do? I think tomorrow I’m going to go for a drive into Iiron Heights and see if I can’t scope out a new woods spot for myself. I’d ask Harry if I could bomb on The Hillside Commons in Bogspekti Park, but… well, I wouldn’t ask Harry that. I don’t want to hang out at his spot, I want my own spot. Is that too much to ask for?
We’ll see. We’ll see! I’m feeling good about Iiron Heights, Keaton lives over there. It must have good energy. Maybe I’ll even hit him up, see if he wants to tag along.
Yeah, that sounds like a great plan. I’m’a do that.
… … …
Thank you, Journal. ‘Preciate ya. Good sleeps and good dreams~
