Aug the Twenty-Third
Journal, I have a newfound appreciation for Wizard and Glass. I’d elaborate on it, but *puffs joint* you wouldn’t get it. You’re a journal, but me? I’m an Occasional Reader who’s thinking about making the jump to Constant. I didn’t puff the joint though, I just wish I could. I’m allowed to live vicariously through you, shut up.
Get it? ‘Cause, ‘cause you’re a journal and you can’t shut up, just like you can’t get a newfound appreciation for W&G like I have? Oof.
So anyway, the first time I read this series I skipped over volume 4.5 after W&G so I could go straight to the Calla; this time, I’m doing it right. I’ve read online that both ways of reading the series have their own benefits – for me, reading 4.5 after 7 was a nice little kiss on the forehead after the emotional fucking delivered by King’s ending and the subsequent coda. This time I’m reading 4.5 between 4 and 5, or canonically, in other words. I’m curious to see how it fits when placed in its correct slot in the story. So, oh so curious, indeed.
Thank you, Journal. ‘Preciate ya. Good sleeps and good dreams~
