Sept the Twenty-Third
Not writing a lot today, I absolutely refuse. My hand is cramping already. I just wanted to take a second and acknowledge something, because it’s important to me.
So my folks were both working today, and I thought I was going to be stuck home alone all day. Thought it was going to be another day stuck on my hands and knees. But I was wrong. Want to know why? Because a certain someone surprised me by taking the day off from work so she could keep me company. She didn’t even give me any warning, just showed up at my house, tried to get in, found the doors locked, and called me asking if there was a spare key, which there was, under the new outside mat my mom bought because fuckin’ Old Jack (and myself, a little bit) got his blood all over the old one and ruined it. And yeah, we spent the day together. She even shielded her eyes whenever I had to go to the bathroom because I didn’t want her to see me crawling around like a momo. It was really, really nice, Journal. I’ve never had a real girlfriend before this, but if this is what it’s like, then… shit, I’m glad Old Jack came a’humpin’. I was going to ask her out eventually for sure, but Jacky boy was the catalyst that made me slip up and refer to her as my girlfriend over the phone, thus allowing her to back me into a corner and force the question out of me.
Okay, it didn’t go exactly like that, but… it doesn’t really matter, does it? Things happened, as they do, and now we’re a thing. And it makes me really fucking happy. And grateful. So, so very grateful.
… … …
So yeah, just wanted to write something about that. I went through a rough patch there, Journal, what with flunking out of college and coming home and smoking myself crazy, but order rose out from the chaos. Things came to balance. And I recognize that, because it’s important to me that I do.
Say thankya, Journal. ‘Preciate ya. Long days and pleasant nights~
