Sept the Twenty-Seventh
As it turns out, Journal, there was a fourth subchapter. What’s more, subchapter 4 was longer than subchapter 1 and 2 put together, by exactly 26 words. How about that? And, obviously, I wrote the third subchapter too, which brings me to a grand total of [refer to log] words today! Wooohooooo! Fucking killed it. I am LOVING this shit SO MUCH! It’s almost better than hooking up with Tori, like, no bullshit. I am completely enamored with fiction writing. I’ve never had so much fun in my life!! If I had known in college that I would get so much enjoyment out of writing about The Hillside Commons then I never would have let Nicholas take that last spot in the fiction writing class. I haven’t heard from him once since we stopped being roommates, like, fuck that guy.
But at the same time, not fuck that guy. Everything is as it should be, in the words of Sidney Blake in the Exordium of The Face of Fear. Oh yeah, I found a better word for “prelude,” too. Exordium and Envoi, what’s fuckin’ wit’ DAT?! I figure it fits the project a little bit better since it’s fantasy and whatnot, y’know? Prelude… the word “prelude” has a musical feel to it, which is great for other stories (Old Jack’s book is going to get a Prelude and a Postlude, and the center is just go’n’a be called the ‘Lude because Old Jack is the lewdest guy I know, got ‘em), but I’d be lying if I said it fit well for my story. My first story, that is, because I can already tell that I’m going to be doing this again. Even if The Face of Fear doesn’t pan out and I get zero readers, I am definitely doing this again.
All in all, very productive five and a half hours today. What can I say? I didn’t want to stop. I don’t really want to stop now, truth be told, but… I don’t know. I feel like I should. There’s technically a break between the first chapter and the Exordium, so waiting until tomorrow to write it can only help the project, right? I certainly think so.
That raises a question, though: in what order am I going to write the chapters? In chronological or in storytelling? It’s going to be read in storytelling, so… probably shouldn’t write chapter 4 before I write chapter 1, right? Yeah, definitely not. I just got’a remember to do First Night in past tense, since the present technically doesn’t pick up until Research, which is chapter 3.
God I fucking love this shit. Who would have ever thought that Sidney Blake, orphan and college flunky, would become an author? Not me… I’m kind of getting ahead of myself, though. I’ve only written an Exordium, I’m not a full author. Not yet. I will be by the end of the week at the rate I’m going (LOL), but I’m not there yet. I’m not in a rush to get there, either. I only get to write this book one time, and I plan on enjoying the hell out of it.
… … …
Now, Journal, it is officially time to take a shower. I’ve been feeling the bottom of my feet all day and the cuts seem to be closed up, and I was walking without socks before and there was no trail of blood, so I think I’m safe. Which is a good thing, because I’ve never felt this greasy before in my life. Like, ever. If I had to wear glasses, the shit would probably be sliding off my face. Yucky. So I’m’a go do that, after I write my log.
… … …
Say thankya, Journal. ‘Preciate ya. Long days and pleasant nights~
