Oct the Twenty-First
Officially started the first draft today! Woo!! I only got through the Exordium, of course, before procrastinating and generating the graphics for the seven cosmic runes of reality in a pirated copy of Photoshop I’ve had for a few years now, which technically isn’t procrastinating because I had to do them eventually anyway. I legit had to make them three times before I was happy: the first time was using letters in the Tempus Sans font, like Iuqon’s handwriting, but I didn’t like how they looked so I remade them all with letters in the Papyrus font (Albey’s handwriting) but I didn’t like how they came out either. SO, I physically drew one out on a sheet of printer paper with the intention of also drawing the other six and then scanning them all into the computer, but I couldn’t manage to draw them uniformly, which made me get all kinds of upset.
So in the end, I just made them using straight lines and curves in Photoshop. Very simple, and yet it came out the best. Who would’a guessed? They hardly look like they’re made of letters, too (because technically they’re not, but when I originally ~conceptualized~ them that’s how I created them, by drawing all the letters in the name inside of a square, why am I wri
I bet the readers won’t even be able to tell, hah. Suckers.
Anywho, I spent legit two full hours dicking around in Photoshop and I don’t really feel like editing anymore today… but yet I’m still going to, I think, because there is no rest for the wicked. I might go take a walk first, but I’m definitely going to keep working today. I want this book to come out, and where I’m at right now, there’s still plenty for me to do that’s in my control.
In other words, I’m probably going to do one more chapter today, maybe two. We’ll see.
