A Bit of New Content

Greetings, and happy Thanksgiving. I’ve updated the library with a bit of new content, two pieces to be exact, and this is me letting you know about it in my old-fashioned way (meaning I explain and then put links at the bottom of the post).

First is a new photo gallery called hubcap. Going for a walk with a garbage bag in my pocket and coming back when it’s filled is a thing I do on occasion, and the last time I went, a thought occurred to me: why don’t I do something for The Commons with this? Thus, hubcap. The pictures include shots of garbage in its evidently natural habitat, and I called it hubcap because I found a functional hubcap or wheel cover or whatever you want to call it, the point is that I lost one off my car a good long time ago and found one today that fits my bare wheel perfectly. Plus, I filled three bags. Satisfied with the entire experience.

Second is a new revision to the book Ascending the Astral God in You • A Manual for Tending The Garden •. AtAGiY is a Reality book, volume 1 of the Nonfiction collection to be specific, and it’s the handbook to a writing RPG put together by a character from Off His Own Supply named Big Bookmaker Hunter A. Wallace. Until this point, a lite version of the manual has been available; I’ve had this new expanded version done for a while now, but I’ve been waiting to release it because I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do with it. After putting some thought into it, I now have a better idea of where the Nonfiction collection is going, and thus, the first book is available digitally. No physical release because, frankly, I don’t see a point in doing one. It’s only thirty-two pages long, nothing major.

Third, I would like to be clear about something: all of The Garden is fiction. Both the Existence half and the Reality half. None of my writing – even the Nonfiction collection – is meant to be read as nonfiction, nor is it meant to be taken seriously. It’s all part of the canon, and I’m saying all this because I feel like I haven’t been, how you say, clear about that; for example, I’ve used my name (and variations of my name) a solid amount of times throughout my writing, and in my mind it’s clearly self-parody, but of course the true intention of my writing is clear to me, I’m the one writing it. To you, the folks who hypothetically read the writing, the self-parody angle (all my angles, really) might be… eh, less clear.

What I’m saying is this: I am thankful for The Hillside Commons, for my books, for you, for all of it, and I thought a little bit of transparency was in order. Here’s a link to the new gallery, and here’s a link to the AtAGiY page where you can download the PDF for free if you’d like to check it out.

Since you’re there, noted/hypothetical reader, thank you for being there. Once again, happy Thanksgiving. From this day on, we move forever forward~
